Our History
Discover the journey of Metro Transit Industries, from its humble beginnings to its current status as a prominent transport community.
Origins of MT
Sometime in 2021, Ryne_gamer (AKA Karri-Wurst) conceptualised plans for a fictional transit company set in a Roblox bus simulator. Inspired by other transit groups around at the time, he decided to create his own: Mentro Transit. No, this is not a typo. Anyway, this company was essentially aimless after its founding, so something had to be done to turn that around.
The Game that Started Everything
As 2021 progressed to 2022, the first major project of MT was consolidated and released to the public. Sing Long LRT was the group's inaugural game, and immediately started to gain traction. Now, we know what you're thinking - this game sounds very similar to the current Seng Long LRT, and there's a good reason that we will get to later. Sing Long LRT released with just two stations and a loop, which remained unnamed. As for rollingstock, the game had a simple 1 car C801. Despite being very basic, the community began to grow from this tiny game, and MT was given the name we all know - Metro Transit.
Though MT had succeeded in its goal of creating a fun project and receiving attention, Sing Long LRT was no doubt still just a simple testing game. As such, after close to three years of existing on the Roblox platform, the game was shut for good around the end of 2024. With it however, came the much-needed refresh that would end up propelling Metro Transit to new heights.
A New and More Familiar Era
The year is 2025, and MT's second project was under heavy development. On August 17th, Seng Long LRT was opened to the public as an Alpha test. Featuring one rebuilt station and a looped track, it was more of a showcase than an actual train driving game, but players were already anticipating the full release. One month later on September 19th, Seng Long LRT was updated with two stations reconstructed from the Sing Long days, as well as the addition of a third underground station. These three stations were named Riverside, Edelweiss, and Bukit Hijau respectively, and this is where the SLLRT we know today started to take shape. The C801 was slightly altered, with both 1 and 2 car variants added to the game.
With that, Seng Long LRT set off on its journey on Roblox, attracting countless players and at the same time expanding the community. The group was renamed Metro Transit Corporation (MTC), and became a recognisable aspect of our identity. Vulpes and Lim Bo Seng stations were added not long after as the map continued to expand. On October 27th, the C801A arrived into SLLRT, and was promptly plauged with plenty of goofy issues like explosive suspension and downright dangerous door operating sequences (shhhh!).
The Mainline Terminates
While trains continued to fly out of the map and stations fell apart voluntarily, Seng Long LRT's network map was finalised. Comprising of a Main Line (prefixed SL) and a Loop Line (prefixed LP), the game would have a total of 14 stations upon completion with 7 on the Main and 7 on the Loop, with an interchange between both. The final two stations on the Main Line were inaugurated on November 6th, those being Seng Long and Macritchie. Both stations were underground, and SLLRT's first train depot was constructed beside Macritchie. Seng Long received an extra level for the upcoming Loop Line platforms, which is currently still under construction. Unconfirmed reports suggest that something sinister is brewing on that level.
A new train, dubbed the CV801A, was added a month later on December 9th. Though fictional, this train proved to be very well-recognised by the community and instantly became an icon of Seng Long LRT. As part of Christmas, a decked-out version of the CV801A was also released for the holidays, and Metro Transit wound down for the year.
Big Changes, Good and Bad
2026 was a huge year for Seng Long LRT and Metro Transit alike. After some minor disputes were settled, SLLRT received its largest update thus far in multiple stages from January 18th to March 30th. All tracks and overground stations were rebuilt, trains received a chassis update, weather was added, and scenery was built up. As a result, the community's growth skyrocketed, and the April Fools update (which turned SLLRT into a cart ride) boosted that further. The old Macritchie Depot was closed as part of the track update, and a temporary spawner was added behind Macritchie station.
However, disaster struck on April 20th. An unfortunate mishap caused the ownership of Metro Transit's Roblox group and games to fall into the hands of an outsider, and for the first time we were stopped dead in our tracks. Development ceased and uncertainty shrouded the entire company while we were figuring out how to proceed further. Things went dark and it seemed as though MTC would face its end right there and then, but a significant breakthrough on the 26th of April allowed us to recover most of our assets and hope was partially restored. The CV151C, a variant of the CV801A refurbished to resemble the real-life C151C train, was released to the public as a token of appreciation for sticking with us through the chaos.
On May 26th, we managed to re-upload Seng Long LRT under our own ownership, but in return had to leave behind the original version which had managed to amass an incredible 198K visits. We sincerely thank everyone for supporting us and pushing our silly little train game past boundaries never thought to be achievable. As MT staggered back onto its feet, we were immediately knocked back down again by Roblox's infamous publishing requirement and age sectorisation update. Seng Long LRT's player count nosedived, but we could only live with it as there was no other way to counter.
Restructuring for the Future
Metro Transit Corporation was rebranded to Metro Transit Industries on the 17th of May, and is the name we bear today. Despite the very offputting restrictions implemented by Roblox, we will remain positive and continue pushing updates for SLLRT. A new project code-named Project Eclipse is now in the works, and is our most ambitious production to date.
This document will be updated as changes occur. Thank you VERY MUCH for reading to the end and see you around!
